Professional Audio Test Disc and Frequency Response Analyser all built into a double CD case - includes the microphone, just add four AAA batteries. A truly affordable way to set up your car audio sound system.
£82.95 inc VAT and p&p (UK only) in stock
We think this is seriously cool. An audio test disc compiled by one of the world’s leading sound engineers (Alan Parsons) with a sound level analyser actually built into the CD case! Terrific for checking the frequency response of your sound system when setting up and tweaking your system’s EQ settings and crossover points. And by using the adjustment on your seat’s headrest to clamp the case in place, you don’t even need a microphone stand! We show you how and tell you a whole lot MORE HERE
KOB Audio SLI (Sound Level Indicator)
The SLI is an easy-to-use, key-chain mounted sound level indicator that helps identify when music, SPL test tones or general noise is at a potentially dangerous level. Three indicator LEDs show if it is safe to your hearing, up to highly dangerous (over 105dbA).
£19.95 inc VAT and p&p (UK only) in stock
While the device is primarily intended as a simple hearing safety check, it can also be used as a fun way to check SPL (sound pressure levels) of vehicle audio systems at informal gatherings, sound-offs, track events etc. by checking level from a short distance away, to help overcome the SLI’s relatively limited 105dB max readout.
The SLI is accurate to within 3dB but is not calibrated or able to be calibrated, and cannot show an accurate readout beyond the 105dB indicator, therefore it is not intended or recommended for formal competition use.
Tests are done on a simple ‘point and shoot’ basis. The LEDs show the approximate level as follows (all dB measurements are A-weighted): Green - flickering: 55dB Green - on continuously: 60dB Yellow - flickering: 75dB Yellow - on continuously: 80dB Red - pulsing slowly: 100dB Red - pulsing rapidly: 100-105dB (dangerous level) Red - on continuously: Greater than 105dB (very dangerous) No LEDs alight (or an even flickering): Level too low to register (or battery is flat)
At 80dB(A), an employer must advise of potential hearing danger. 85dB(A) is the level where the employer must provide hearing protection and enforce its use.
Includes, pre-fitted in the SLI, two button cell batteries. These should last approximately 1000 measurements, assuming 10 second test duration.
